藍眼白貓=聾是有理據的, 背後原因關乎細胞的問題, 太詳細我這個文科人又不敢在此班門弄斧, 唯有簡化了地說: 藍眼白貓體內大多因基因問題缺乏黑色素細胞,而這個細胞是大概是構成聽覺的重要細胞之一, 欠缺了這類型細胞, 就失去聽覺變成先天的聾子。 但藍眼是不一定失聰的, 因為他們的披毛變白, 眼睛變藍,可以是由其他基因導致, 有時候藍眼白貓體內也會有黑色素的基因, 只是不夠W基因強, 所以被遮蔽了而已。
大概關係是如此, 換言之:
藍眼白貓不一定是聾(但有60-80%機會是);
藍眼白貓一定不是白化病, 只是基因與一般的貓不同;
不一定是純種的藍眼白貓才會是聾, 所有的藍眼白貓也有機會!
失聰的貓在街上的生存機會是很低的, 因為他們沒了警覺性, 很容易受到敵人的突襲, 慶幸難纏的雪雪沒給人家丟在街上, 否則不是睡夢中無聊被車死,便會是吃飯時無辜被狗狗咬死;
